Come Back Tomorrow: Daily Gifts, Challenges and Missions in Our Games

Some of our games have a little surprise waiting every day: a gift calendar, a fresh puzzle, a new flight or a short list of missions. We opened each one, noted exactly what it offered, and worked out how to get the most from a few minutes a day.

There is a special kind of fun in a game that changes a little every day. You open it with your morning cup of tea, see something new, play for five minutes and close it again, already curious about tomorrow. Several of our games are built around that idea, and each one does it a bit differently.

For this post we opened five of them, went straight to their daily feature, and wrote down exactly what we found. Daily puzzles and flights change every day, so the specific boards and routes below are the ones we saw on the day we tested. The rewards and the way each feature works stay the same.

Silly Sprout Garden: a gift calendar that grows

Silly Sprout Garden is the most generous of the bunch, and it shows you that straight away. On our very first visit, the Daily Gift card popped up before we had planted anything, with the cheerful line *"Come back every day for bigger gifts!"* The calendar looked like this:

DayGift
Day 120 coins
Day 23 Common seeds
Day 350 coins
Day 42 Uncommon seeds
Day 5100 coins
Day 61 Rare seed
Day 7250 coins and 1 Epic seed

Our honest tip: Day 7 is the one to aim for. An Epic seed is far rarer than anything you will buy early on, and there is also a Best Buddy award (500 coins) for collecting the gift seven days in a row. After collecting, the game nudges you with "Tap an empty patch to plant your first seed!", so it is a nice moment to plant the seeds you were just given. The garden also has daily Quests for extra coins.

Block Glide: a fresh board every day

In Block Glide, the Daily Challenge button sits right on the title screen under the words "New puzzle every day". When we opened it, the board was dated that day and had a 1:30 timer, and before we could make a move a card introduced the twist: Beat the Clock, *"The timer starts on your first move. Clear every block before it runs out!"*

That little detail matters. Because the clock does not start until you touch a block, you can study the board for as long as you like first. We spent a good half minute just looking: which block has to move first, which gate is blocked, where the ice is. When we tested on another day, the board had a 1:25 timer with arrows, ice, a spinner, a two-colour block and stars to collect. The first daily win of each day pays 150 coins plus a streak bonus, more than four times what an early level gives. If you are stuck, remember the Freeze booster stops the timer for 12 seconds.

Horizon Pilot: a Daily Charter flight

Horizon Pilot's daily feature is the most adventurous. The title screen has a Daily +300 button, and tapping it opens a Daily Charter: a real flight plan on the island map. Ours was a charter to Pine Valley (PNV) in the little Sparrow, flying at dusk in a storm, with a 6-knot wind from 024°, 3 passengers on board and a reward of 300 coins. The objectives were simple to read and hard to do: land at Pine Valley, with a par time of 5:00. The card also shows your streak, which started at 0 for us.

The briefing says *"Find your own way, then land smoothly"*, and that is the heart of it. There are no practice rings guiding you: you pick a heading, keep an eye on the map, and line up with the runway yourself. Two tips from our flights:

Gobble Hole: three missions a day

Gobble Hole keeps it short and sweet. The Missions button on the title screen opens two tabs, Daily and Achievements, and the Daily tab gave us three tasks:

  1. Swallow 50 people: 90 coins
  2. Reach the top 3 in Battle twice: 120 coins
  3. Eat 1 rival hole: 70 coins

That is 280 coins for one day, enough to buy a Bubblegum or Lime Pop skin (150 each) with plenty left over. Underneath it says *"New missions every day."* Our tip: read them before you start, because the right mode makes all the difference. The Battle mission needs Battle mode, while "swallow 50 people" is easy to finish in a single Classic round if you stay near busy pavements.

Chai Tycoon and Juicy Merge: two quieter dailies

Two more games reward you for dropping by. In Chai Tycoon, when we pressed Play during testing a Daily Chai Bonus card appeared: Day 1 pays 10 minutes of profits, and the calendar climbs to Day 7, which pays 3 hours of profits plus the Golden Kettle, a permanent +10% profit boost. Miss a day and the streak starts over. In Juicy Merge, the Daily Challenge gives everyone the same fruit order for the day plus a goal, such as making a certain fruit and reaching a target score, with a 100-coin bonus once per day.
