Juicy Merge Guide: How to Make a Watermelon (and the Juice Jackpot)
Juicy Merge is a fruit-dropping puzzle: two of the same fruit touch and squish into a bigger one. It looks simple, but a tidy jar is the difference between an early overflow and a Watermelon. Here is what we learned.

You hold a fruit above a glass jar, slide your finger left or right to aim, and let go to drop it. When two identical fruits touch, they merge into the next fruit up the ladder. Keep merging and the fruits get bigger and bigger until, if you are tidy enough, you make a Watermelon. The game ends when the pile stays above the red dotted line at the top for three seconds.
The fruit ladder
Each merge creates the next fruit and scores its points:
| # | Fruit | Points for making it |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Blueberry | (dropped only) |
| 2 | Cherry | 3 |
| 3 | Lime | 6 |
| 4 | Plum | 10 |
| 5 | Lemon | 15 |
| 6 | Orange | 21 |
| 7 | Apple | 28 |
| 8 | Peach | 36 |
| 9 | Coconut | 45 |
| 10 | Pineapple | 55 |
| 11 | Watermelon | 66 |
Merge two Watermelons and they burst in a Juice Jackpot worth 200 points (more in a combo), clearing both from the jar.
You only ever get the five smallest fruits to drop, Blueberry to Lemon, and the small ones come up most often. Everything from Orange upward has to be built by merging. The Next box at the top right shows what is coming after your current fruit, so you can plan one move ahead.
Combos
Merges that happen within about half a second of each other build a combo chain. Every step adds +0.5 to your multiplier, up to x4. Chains happen naturally when one merge drops a new fruit onto its twin, which drops onto the next, and so on. In our first game a simple double merge showed COMBO x2 after only about thirty drops.
You can set chains up on purpose: line fruits up in size order (small next to medium next to large) so one merge rolls into the next.
The corner strategy
The most reliable way to reach big fruits is to build in one corner:
- Pick a side, say the right. Keep your biggest fruit in that bottom corner.
- Place the next-biggest fruits beside it, getting smaller as you go toward the middle.
- Drop small fruits on the far side, away from your big ones, and merge them there before moving them over.
In our test we dropped mostly on the right and kept the small fruit low. After fifty drops the jar was still well below the red line with a score of 648, and the game had not even come close to ending. When we dropped randomly in the middle earlier, small fruits got trapped under large ones and the pile climbed quickly.
Phone controls
| Action | Phone | Computer |
|---|---|---|
| Aim | Drag left or right | Mouse, left/right arrows, or A and D |
| Drop | Let go | Click, Space, Down or Enter |
| Power-ups | Tap Shake, Pop or Upgrade at the bottom | 1, 2 or 3 |
| Pause | II button | P or Esc |
There is an aim guide line under the fruit, so you can see exactly where it will land.
Power-ups: when to use them
You start with 2 Shakes, 2 Pops and 1 Upgrade, and can buy more in the Shop with coins (Shake 60, Pop 80, Upgrade 120).
- Shake stirs the whole jar. Use it when two matching fruits are stuck next to each other but not touching, or when something small is wedged under a big fruit.
- Pop bursts one fruit you tap. Save it for the single awkward fruit that is blocking everything, especially one near the red line.
- Upgrade grows a fruit by one size. The best use is turning a fruit into the twin of its neighbour, so they merge straight away and often start a chain.
Modes
- Classic: endless. Play until the jar overflows.
- Timed: 90 seconds on the clock. Merges that make an Orange or bigger add time, and bigger fruits add more (an Orange adds 2 seconds, a Watermelon 7). In this mode, speed matters more than neatness, and coins are earned faster.
- Daily Challenge: everyone gets the same fruit order that day, plus a goal: make a certain fruit (an Apple, Peach or Coconut) and reach a target score. Hitting the goal pays a 100-coin bonus once per day.
Coins and the Shop
At the end of a game you earn coins based on your score (about one coin per 20 points in Classic and one per 12 in Timed), plus 20 extra if you made a Coconut or bigger. Trophies pay coins too, so early games add up fast: we went from 150 to 280 coins in our first session.
The Shop has three tabs: Jars (Orchard Crate 400, Candy Cloud 700, Ocean Bowl 1,000, Neon Night 1,400 and Golden Vault 2,000), Fruit skins and Power-ups. Jars and skins change only the look. Power-ups are the practical buy.
Quick tips
- Never drop a big fruit into the middle of small ones. It buries them.
- If the Next fruit matches something on the surface, think about where both will land before dropping.
- Keep the top clear. A fruit only ends the game if it stays above the line for three seconds, so a bouncing fruit is not a disaster.
- Use Upgrade to finish a chain rather than to start one.
What changed after testing
Recent updates gave the fruit more detail and cuter faces, added a juice splash every time two fruits merge, and dressed the kitchen with a window, shelf and cupboards. The background was simplified in landscape so the jar is easy to see. A More games link was added to the results screen, and the Share button was moved so it never covers the jar.
FAQ
What is the biggest fruit in Juicy Merge?
The Watermelon. Merging two Watermelons gives a Juice Jackpot and clears them from the jar.
Why did my game end when the jar wasn't full?
A fruit rested above the red line for three seconds. Big fruits take up a lot of room, so watch the height when you make them.
Which fruits can I drop?
Only Blueberry, Cherry, Lime, Plum and Lemon. Everything bigger comes from merging.
Is the Daily Challenge the same for everyone?
Yes. Everyone gets the same fruit order and goal for the day, which makes it fun to compare scores with friends.
Does it save my coins and best score?
Yes, automatically on your device.
