Zaib City Guide: Jobs, Story Missions, Districts and Cars
Zaib City is a bright 3D city where nobody steals cars: you ask nicely and drivers hop out, wave and lend you theirs. You earn money driving taxis, delivering pizza and putting out fires. This guide explains how to get the most out of it.

A city where everyone helps
Most city games are about causing trouble. Zaib City turns that around. Mayor Sunny greets you with "Everyone here shares, helps and waves hello", and she means it. Walk up to any parked car, or any car stopped in traffic, and the driver politely steps out, waves and lends it to you. Bumps are harmless and funny ("Bonk!", "Watch it, buddy!"), people on the pavement jump out of the way, and instead of getting into trouble you build up Reputation by being a good driver.
The city has a downtown of glass towers, a leafy suburb, a beach with a boardwalk pier and harbour, an industrial zone, a big park with a lake, a highway loop and Sunset Hill with stunt ramps. Time passes from sunrise to a starry night, and the weather changes between sun, clouds, rain and fog.
Getting started
You start with $500, Level 1 and the Reputation title Friendly Face. Mayor Sunny's welcome is your first story mission: walk to the red hatchback nearby and tap the car button to get in. The game shows a little hint at each step, so just follow along.
The game works upright, but the title screen suggests turning your phone sideways, and that gives a much wider view of the road. It is also a big 3D world, so the first load can take a little while on older phones.
Controls on a phone
| What | On foot | In a car |
|---|---|---|
| Move | Drag the left side of the screen (push further to run) | Left and right arrows to steer, GAS to go |
| Look around | Drag the right side of the screen | Camera button to change view |
| Special | JUMP | Hold BRAKE to slow down and reverse, DRIFT to slide, NITRO for a boost |
| Get in or out | Car button when you are next to a car | EXIT |
On a computer, use W A S D or the arrow keys, Space to jump or drift, Shift to run or use nitro, and E to get in and out. Settings also offers tilt steering or a stick instead of arrows.
The phone button opens the in-game phone: jobs, the story list, homes, districts, daily challenges and awards. The map button shows the whole city; tap anywhere to set a waypoint, and a pink GPS line on the minimap leads the way.
Reputation: be nice, earn more
Your Reputation goes from 0 to 100 and gives you a title and up to five stars:
| Reputation | Title |
|---|---|
| 0 to 19 | New in Town |
| 20 to 39 | Friendly Face |
| 40 to 59 | Local Helper |
| 60 to 79 | Neighbourhood Star |
| 80 to 99 | City Favourite |
| 100 | Hero of Zaib City |
This matters because Reputation changes how much every job pays, from 80% of the normal fare at zero up to 140% at full Reputation. You gain it by finishing jobs and missions, by waiting at red lights (the game cheers "Nice! You waited"), and by greeting people. You lose a little for running a red light or bumping into people and cars. Driving politely really is the fastest way to get rich here.
Jobs
Coloured beams around the city mark jobs. Drive into one and tap the button that appears.
- Taxi Fares: pick up passengers and drive them where they want to go.
- Pizza Delivery and Parcel Run: deliver on time.
- Ambulance Run: rush patients to the hospital.
- Fire Response: drive the fire engine and use the water cannon (SPRAY).
- Speed Patrol: in the police cruiser, gently bump speeders to pull them over.
- Bus Route: stop at each bus stop.
- Street Race and Time Trial: beat the others or the clock.
- Parking Challenge: park neatly in the marked space.
- Stunt Showcase: hit the ramps on Sunset Hill.
There are also daily challenges in the phone, and hidden stars and stunt jumps to find all over the map.
The story: 22 missions
Gold star markers on the map are story missions. Each one has a friendly character, a little chat and a reward that grows as you go, from $300 for the first mission to $10,000 for the last. A few highlights:
| Mission | Who asks | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| Welcome to Zaib City | Mayor Sunny | Your first borrowed car |
| Beach Day | Snap, who films fun stuff | Drive Snap to the end of the pier for a sunset shot. Opens the Beach and Harbour district |
| The Big Move | Mayor Sunny | Follow the moving van for the new toy factory into the Industrial Zone |
| Up the Hill | The racing coach | Leads to Sunset Hill Stunt Park |
| Storm Rescue, Blaze at the Docks | The doctor and the fire chief | Emergency missions: a rescue in a storm and a fire at the harbour |
| Grand Prix | The racing coach | The big race, worth $4,000 |
| Key to the City | Mayor Sunny | Lead the parade float to the park, slowly and without bumping |
Districts
At first some parts of the city are closed. They open through the story or when you reach a high enough level, whichever comes first:
| District | Opens at |
|---|---|
| Beach and Harbour | Level 3, or after the Beach Day mission |
| Industrial Zone | Level 6, or after The Big Move |
| Sunset Hill Stunt Park | Level 9, or after Up the Hill |
Cars, the garage and homes
Your first car is the free Zippy Hatch. Zaib Motors sells the rest, from the Pizza Scooter ($1,500) and City Cab ($2,500) up to the Thunder V8 ($18,000) and the Zaib Hyper X supercar ($60,000). There is even an ice cream van, Mr. Swirl, that plays music. Remember you can borrow almost anything from traffic for free, so buy cars you love driving.
Sprocket's Garage repairs dents, changes paint and sells upgrades. Homes (from $3,000 in the suburb to $40,000 for the cabin) are places to rest and save.
Tips
- Do the story first. It opens districts, pays well and introduces every job type.
- Stop at red lights. Every stop nudges your Reputation, and Reputation raises all your pay.
- Use the waypoint. Tapping the big map and following the pink line is quicker than exploring blind.
- Save nitro for straight roads and races. Drifting is great for tight corners.
- Pick the right car for the job: the Zoom Bike is fast and nimble for deliveries, the Fire Engine and City Bus are slow but required for their jobs.
What changed after testing
Recent updates made the city look much better close up: rounded characters with smooth faces, cars with tyre tread and brake details, cracks and patches in the roads and fuller trees. The results screen was tidied so the minimap and corner buttons no longer sit underneath the Share button, even when you turn the phone mid-screen, and saved progress was made sturdier.
